Call for Proposals and Discussants
Anthropocene is the name for our current geological age in which human activity is the dominant factor impacting climate, the environment, and non-human animals. The goal of this Symposium is to provide space to consider scholarship that addresses what this means for nonhuman animals. We welcome applications to present works in progress or ideas in the development stage and from students as well as junior and seasoned scholars. We also encourage applications to participate as a Discussant for one or more papers.
The deadline for submissions is December 15, 2022, by 11:59 pm Eastern Standard Time. The Program Committee will review all proposals received by this date and respond by mid-January.
This Symposium is free and open to everyone interested in attending. It will take place primarily in person at GW Law School in Washington DC, with limited options to attend or present remotely. The in-person Symposium will feature all-vegan catering, including breakfast, lunch, and light refreshments at an evening reception.
If you are interested in attending without being a presenter or Discussant, stay tuned: the registration page will be available in early 2023. At that time, we will provide information about travel and nearby accommodations.
