Veterans and Service Members
Many of our students benefit from Chapter 33 Post-9/11 benefits, including the Yellow Ribbon Program.
We are committed to providing our veterans with the highest level of support. Specific programs that highlight the interests of our students with military backgrounds include the National Security & U.S. Foreign Relations Law program, the Government Contracts Program, the Veterans Law Pro Bono Program, and our annual hosting of the National Veterans Law Moot Court Competition.
The G.I. Jobs magazine has named the University a “military friendly” institution every year since 2009, and since 2010 the Military Times' Edge magazine has named George Washington University “Best for Vets.” Aside from having former military among our faculty and staff, we have a very active Military Law Society. If you are a veteran or active-duty military, please let us know.
Some military benefits, including Department of Defense benefits, are called "third-party billing" tuition payments. No benefits specifically tied to tuition payments may exceed the cost of tuition. This type of benefit, applied to tuition costs, may reduce GW Law need-based grants and/or merit scholarships.
It is essential that veterans and active-duty members of the military contact the experts at the GW Military and Veteran Services Office at [email protected] or 202.994.9570.
